The two books reviewed in this week’s missive were finished mere days apart, yet read in different years.

But the book is important enough to me that I decided it deserved its own dedicated post.

2023 book stats and 2024 hopes and dreams.

I skipped writing last week because I took myself on a self-created writer’s retreat up in Cold Spring.

I guess I should’ve known something big was going to happen.

I made a lot of good decisions from my bed this week.

I honestly found it a bit difficult to focus this week overall.

I rounded out October with a few more scary movies and cozy nights, and I’m endlessly grateful for them.

I know I’ve said this before, but it was truly a rough week this week!

October is usually when I spend my evenings watching horror movies.

I have been going, going, going for the last week, and I am somehow not yet gone.

Not very much to report this week, so apologies for the short missive!

Things aren’t perfect, though I think perhaps they’re improving.

Normalize taking time off just because you need a break!!

It’s a holiday weekend, so I’m taking it easy.

I can’t lie, this week was kind of shit.

Since I gave you four (four!!) book reviews to peruse, I’ll keep the rest of the missive short.

Sometimes, I sit down to type up these updates, and I’m at a loss for words.

Still holding out for the seven-figure book deal one day—ha.

This review has been a long time coming, so I feel a bit of pressure to make it extra-good.
